*additional note: Whether you struggle with an addiction or do feel like you haven’t really messed things up before God in your life, you can still relate to the book of Hosea.  No matter how big or little we have or are currently making a mess of our lives, we just like the Israelites, constantly struggle with putting other, people, things, or comforts where God should be.  In that way we are like Gomer who even after Hosea buys her freedom and marries her, she still turns back to prostitution.  So there is something for everyone in this book of the Bible! 🙂
