Tuesday Truth

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick…”

Where are you putting your hope?

Are you putting it in things of this world, getting married, having kids, making money, having a nice house, being well known, whatever your definition of making it is? Not that these things are wrong in theirselves, but when your hope is rooted in these things you can run into that “heart sick” syndrome.

We aren’t guaranteed to get married, have kids, have money, have the nice house, and all that. Yes, it’s okay to dream. The next part of this verse in Proverbs 13:12 even says, “but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.”

It’s all about how and who you are dreaming and hoping in/with.

If you are hoping in Christ and finding your everything in Him-if He is your foundation then your hope can’t be deferred (postponed, delayed), because His timing is perfect and right on time. But if we are hoping on how we think our lives should go and the time line we think makes sense, it will seem like our hopes and dreams are being delayed.

Once you are grounded on God being your hope and foundation, then you can start to dream with Him. He has given you dreams! But make sure to dream with Him! Continually asking Him what those dreams are, what they look like, and the timing for them. He has given you dreams girl! He has a plan for you! And no dream is too small or too big for Him, as long as you haven’t gotten ahead of God and started running leaving Him in the dust. (I’ve been there and done that. 🙋🏽‍♀️)

Seek Him and His will for your life daily. Continually lay those dreams at His feet. But also be ready to boldly step into those dreams when the time and place is right. And get ready to see all the cool things God will do when you surrender your life to Him!
